Radio Napa
will transmit a US Election Night Special programme with live coverage
from Washington, across the USA and around the world.
The programme, produced by BBC News, will be simulcast on 106.3 FM in south-east Cyprus .
The programme will start at 18:00 hours on Tuesday evening and conclude at 10:00 am on
Wednesday.
This will be the 3rd US Election special to be broadcast by Radio Napa, with the first
being a marathon 36 hour programme in the 1996 presidential election, when Bill Clinton
was re-elected, receiving 49.2% of the popular vote over Republican Bob Dole.
Jimmy Carter in Cyprus
Three
members of The Elders, Chairman Archbishop Desmond Tutu, former US President Jimmy Carter
and former Algerian Foreign Minister Lakhdar Brahimi have been in Cyprus. Radio Napa's Good
Morning Cyprus was in Nicosia and spoke to the UN Spokesman, former Turkish
Cypriot Leader Rauf Denktash and the Ambassador of Slovakia about the visit. Listen /

80s rockers to play Cyprus concert
Legendary
rockers Whitesnake are to follow in the footsteps of Gerry Marsden and Joe Longthorne by
playing a one-off gig in Cyprus next month.
The band have scheduled the date as part of their current world tour and will perform at
the Eleftheria Stadium on November 13. The band celebrated their 30th anniversary last
year, and are also playing a one-off gig in Tel Aviv.

Bases target poachers in eastern SBA
British forces police are stepping up efforts to combat illegal
bird trapping and poaching in and around the bases at Dhekelia and Akrotiri.
According to reports, extra patrols and a new telephone tip-off line will come into force
next week.
A special hotline can be reached on 1443. There are 59,000
registered hunters in Cyprus.
